Barcelona – The European Cheerleader Association has set the course for the future at its annual general meeting and has elected Russian citizen Liudmila Zueva as the new president of the European Cheerleading Association in the Catalan metropolis.
“As newly elected ECA President the focus of my work is developing the sport of cheerleading and wellbeing of our athletes,” the new president said after her election.
As Vice-President, the 18 voting delegates elected the Italian Marco Tomasini.
AFVD President Robert Huber was voted unopposed as secretary and board member. The 49-year-old lawyer is also president of the German Cheerleading Association, Senior Vice-President of the IFC and successfully organized the Cheerleading World Championship in 2009 and 2015.
The participants in the annual general meeting also appointed Andrii Boliak (Ukraine), Helena Dubrovnik (Croatia) and Marc Watry (Luxembourg) as members of the board.
Together with the elected Huub Bob (Netherlands) and Thomas Meyer (Germany) as auditors, the ECA laid the foundation to further promote the cheerleading sport in the coming years and make it even more popular.
